So… Much like my experience discovering and accepting myself, there was some trial and error getting things established here. But I’m happy to say the base is established and now I get to just do what I love: capture magic, tell stories and try to spread light!
Despite my planning and research, I really didn’t know what I was getting into until I went “FLOOR IT” and got to face a multitude of expected and unexpected challenges, including one massive gut punch at the finale, but frankly? I’m grateful these challenges came up.
Know why? Because they helped me learn a lot about me, who I am, what I REALLY want and what is important to me, not what I’m told is important (unless it comes from you dear reader, I really do welcome feedback! Positive or negative!). The early steps of this new adventure were filled with pivots and have led to many changes on this site and to my plans. Some of those plans are still being evaluated, but I intend to give you an overview of where things stand right now!
So lets get into it!
Current/Future Plans
ShyWitchZ.com: Spells, affirmations, blessings and magical tales merging fact and fiction. Along with a White Magic primer series titled Witchy 101 that will be constantly reviewed and updated. Rituals section coming soon, and I’m hoping to add a collection of tales inspired by local crafters and small businesses! All with the aim of uplifting, healing and helping everyone manifest happiness and gratitude every day to shape a brighter reality!

Patreon: Unfortunately for now my plans for this platform are scrapped. See linked post for more details, but it’s more negativity than I want to bring into this space. Leading pivot for this currently is taking on a few clients at a modest monthly price so that I can build some revenue while continuing to offer my craft for free here. (Spells, blessings, readings, if you need a white witch in your pocket (or writer for that matter), I’m your girl!)
Instagram: I’m not sure what I am going to do here but I will be trying to interact a little more to build community and a network of witchy/crafty folk! I’ll post some crafting snapshots and the occasional look at the life of the witch. But really it will mainly just be connected for my:
Threads: I will be posting blog updates in addition to an occasional affirmation, blessing or impactful reading that may or may not make it to the blog some day! The algorithm is legit amazing at connecting you with the right people for YOU and YOUR interests on this platform so I’ll be spending a lot of time here building connections and finding new stories to share! Ko-Fi: As noted above-SELLING STARTS NOW! (Commissions are open, ready made sales start 11/15) I won’t be doing my wax sealed stones like originally planned, at least initially, but I will be selling simple ready made 4×6 water colors painted in ritual. (mostly pride flags/abstracts. I’m a witch I’m a writer not a painter nor a fighter, I’m a singer I’m a s… sorry, in another life I might have been Weird Al) These watercolor cards will have excerpts of my spells and/or affirmations mindfully handwritten on them and a blessed wax seal will also be applied! I will re-bless them, seal them in a protective envelope (with an extra wax seal you or your friend can break to claim the magic!) and mail them off same or next day in most instances!
Has something on the site really spoken to you? Or you know it would resonate with a friend? There is a commissions section open! Intent
This month’s intent is combating loneliness. My sole focus will be to find words to really soothe loneliness, the kind that can be felt even when in a room where you know everyone’s name. As communities of coworkers, friends and family begin to gather, I want to ensure all can feel community for the soul regardless of involvement or inclusion. Much like the call in my fourth signature spell, if you are or feel like an outcast for any reason; I am really hoping to find some magic to soothe those pains and bring us all together in healing.
Tarot Tale & Card of the month
Both are the Seven of Pentacles
The accursed/blessed Seven of #*%&# Pentacles
Sorry… Both for that bit of anger and that both of these segments are for the same card this time around, but you did get a bonus CoM last month, and this is a long one.
The Seven of Pentacles typically depicts a person taking a break while looking over a field or garden that is experiencing abundant growth. The lesson is to take some time to relax, let go of the hard work for a moment, appreciate the fruits of your efforts and show gratitude your efforts are paying off.
This card started stalking me shortly after this site went live. I mused to my Facebook friends “Alright cool, love the positivity but I’ve got two dozen views and a handful of likes, ain’t exactly fruit to appreciate just yet, come back after I can quit my day job or at least have gotten a donation”.
The card continued to stalk. I had drawn it from every one of my decks AT LEAST once, it was coming up daily, often the first card of the day, a few times leading or explaining an important spread…. it had been driving me mad! Like, OKAY I GET IT you want me to believe that things are going to be great in the future, all my efforts will pay off and maybe I should chill a bit, but I still have work to do to get there, so bug off.
I finally understand what the cards were trying to tell me though. They were trying to tell me I had skipped over recognizing and appreciating something truly magical.
While I noticed and was incredibly happy with the traffic and likes in the early days (legit, my first couple likes made me happy cry and I still get a huge grin each time an alert pops up), I was so focused on my future goals I never really took the time to reflect on and appreciate how grateful I was to have reached this point in my journey. And I don’t mean gratitude for having visitors, or likes, or that some visitors liked what they read so much they came back, cause believe me, I SOAKED UP every single drop of that energy.
No I’m talking about being grateful for me, being here, launching a blog, sharing my stories and (hopefully) inspiring others to be more magically authentic, all thanks to the person I used to be and the many struggles that lead to this point, and I guess, at this point I can only share the feeling through a musical metaphor….
There is a song by Steven Page, “There’s a Melody” the main reframe is this:
“There’s a melody somewhere inside of me
I can hear it but can’t get it out of me
In my head it is soaring
But when it comes out it is all the same note”
All my life my own melody had been there. I had been chasing and running so hard trying to find it, capture it so I could share it. I knew it was there but each time I thought I’d found it, it would fade, taunting me. It was hell knowing this magic was inside of me but I was unable to find and share it. Yet once I stopped chasing it, it became so simple.
I just had to give it some time, let some things go, close my eyes, believe in myself. And now I know:
ShyWitchZ.com is the melody I’d been chasing. Even now in its limited form I can hear the beautiful symphony playing loudly and proudly at last with a beautiful sound I hope the world will someday hear! Even better yet, I have the rest of my life to further refine it!
That is the fruit to be appreciated. I captured a dream without even noticing I’d found it. A dream simultaneously realized and begun. Conquering so many storms that now I simply brace, pivot and shrug them off. The happiness and gratitude I feel from that power has really been something magical to experience, and I hope to never stop sharing this light and positivity with the world. And I really appreciate the Seven of Pentacles sticking around until I learned and truly appreciated this incredible lesson (sorry about some of the things I said about you THAT night).
P.S. being stalked by the entirety of the suit of Cups now, particularly the Ace reversed, I really don’t know why I always seem to have a rotating stalker in the cards… Will see if any of the cups end up making next months tale or CoM! (better not be 5, I finally shook that one off recently!)

I realized that part of what encouraged me to pursue this dream is the burnout I faced trying to advance in the “real world”. Doing the things I was told I should do, following the metrics I’m told are important, being who I was told to be and hating every bit of it. Affiliate links felt too familiar to that. I’d rather do what I love the way that I want to and generate additional gratitude.
So, going forward I am going to practice what I preach, I will be calling attention to local and online small businesses selling magical or magic adjacent products. I will also be trying to craft some of their stories into magical tales, further promoting their craft and practicing mine!

Actually I’m not sure. One of my perks for free members on Patreon was going to be getting these monthly updates early and without affiliate links in order to drive traffic over there…. But now affiliate links are gone, and the rest of my Patreon plans are scrapped… So doesn’t really make sense to do that call to action here.
Maybe I’ll just revert to the “Did you know that? Subtitle: Why is my brain like this” closing where I share a random thought, fact, meme, movie or quote that is living in my head at the moment.
