Signature Spell Series #2

“A light, Her light,

from Her hands to yours.

A light that you feel,

As it shapes, guides and cures.

Lift your shadow,

throw your dark to the light.

Lift your burdens,

Let your spirit ignite.

Attune to the world,

to the beauty around.

Tranquility within chaos,

is there to be found.

Too many ways forward?

Unsure where to go?

Think of the river,

Trust each ebb and flow.

The cycle continues,

Through each rise and fall.

Grow towards completion,

Grow, for us all.

This is the area where I’d tell you about the specific intent, artifacts, cards or reagents used in the crafting of the spell, or a description of how the finished spell is cast as well as any other relevant notes.

For my first few (five) spells that I will be sharing, the spells that guided and shaped my awakening, I will instead share the tale of how they came to be:

I still feel a little bit embarrassed whenever I cast this spell (which I do often), I have zero reason to, but it’s the lingering second hand embarrassment from when I crafted it.

I began crafting it on my lunch break, in the middle of a busy park, in my work clothes plus my witch’s hat. I didn’t have time to change into my robes, and I felt throwing my moon cloak on would be even LESS conspicuous then my grey pointed hat, so I walked through the park I often did on my lunch-but as my true self for the first time.

I don’t believe any of the other people there paid me much attention as I found a quiet corner to setup my space. Unable to burn incense I made sure to have some scented oils to attune my senses without disturbing others. I prepared my cards and began my crafting with a single intent.

End my stagnation.

I had been standing at a crossroads never having the courage to take more than a few steps down any path, and since no wind was going to guide my steps, I needed to make the change myself. I decided to attempt to access my newfound magic in a public space I was very familiar with. I’d hoped my prior attunement to this space in my “take charge business woman” persona would allow me to find the way to grow beyond this cycle I was trapped in.

Although I did not have the time to fully explore the magic, I returned to the office a short time later with my tome buzzing in my pocket, so much magic had been captured in such a short time, it was begging to be explored. I applied my craft to distil the magic as soon as possible that night, ensuring none of the potency was wasted.

The spell above was the result of these efforts. One piece of the magic, the message the cards SCREAMED, that I could not find a way to make work without being blunt, I feel should be mentioned, well, bluntly:

When you are looking to grow, you should seek hands to guide you, hands to help you and lead the way, however theses hands should shape and mold, they should NEVER restrain. Restraining hands guiding your “growth” will not help you grow; they will hold you down.
